The Substitute Teacher role is onsite in Lexington, NC. Compensation is $125 per full day (8 hours). Davidson Charter Academy seeks substitutes to maintain student safety, engagement, and learning during a teacher’s absence. The substitute follows the classroom teacher’s plans and routines, guides instruction, and supervises students. The role helps ensure continuity of classroom learning while leaving the teacher a summary of completed work and concerns.

What you'll do

• Follow lesson plans and the daily schedule
• take attendance and report absences
• guide instruction and help students complete assignments
• manage classroom behavior and reinforce school expectations
• supervise students throughout the day and during assigned duties
• follow student accommodations and safety procedures
• leave a summary of completed work and concerns
• keep the classroom organized and maintain student confidentiality.

Why this role

Educational-field experience is required; applicants without it will not be considered. Full-day hours are 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; morning half-day hours are 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.; afternoon half-day hours are 11:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
