Family Advocate

Job overview

The Family Advocate works onsite at the Mission Potrero satellite site in San Francisco, CA, for $26–$30 per hour. Good Samaritan Family Resource Center helps low-income families access services, build self-sufficiency, and participate in their community. The advocate provides culturally relevant, strength-based support to Spanish-speaking families through case management, advocacy, education, and community referrals. The role helps parents identify strengths and goals and connect with services that support children’s healthy development.

What you'll do

• Coordinate outreach and services with community partners
• provide case management and family advocacy
• conduct intake, assessment, and service-plan development
• help families identify needs, strengths, and goals
• coordinate and monitor referrals
• teach and model practical skills
• accompany families to appointments and hearings when needed
• facilitate or assist with workshops and support groups
• maintain case documentation
• comply with mandated-reporting standards.
