Family Attorney

Job overview

The Family Attorney role is remote, serving clients throughout Middle and South Georgia, with travel as needed for court appearances and other proceedings. Compensation is $150,000–$185,000 base plus bonus. Hecht Family Law represents clients navigating divorce and related family-law matters. The attorney independently manages a family-law caseload and develops case strategies aligned with each client’s objectives. Through litigation, negotiation, client communication, and collaboration with firm colleagues, the role advances clients’ legal matters while maintaining organized case records and deadlines.

What you'll do

• Manage family-law matters including divorce, custody, child support, modifications, and contempt
• develop strategic case plans
• conduct legal research and analysis
• draft motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery, and other litigation documents
• represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, motions practice, and trials
• travel for in-person proceedings as needed
• negotiate settlements where appropriate
• collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and firm leadership
• communicate proactively with clients
• and maintain case files, deadlines, documentation, and billing records.
