CNC Programmer — Machine Shop

The CNC Programmer role is onsite in Grand Rapids, MI. Compensation is not specified. The position supports the ABT Machine Shop; Amphenol Borisch Technologies provides high-reliability electronic systems for aerospace and defense customers. The role exists to create and maintain accurate, safe, and efficient CNC programs that support production quality and throughput. It works with machinists and Quality Assurance to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain controlled program and tooling documentation.

What you'll do

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using HyperMill for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
• select tooling, speeds, and feeds
• simulate and validate toolpaths
• maintain setup sheets and process documentation. Collaborate with machinists, troubleshoot production issues, optimize cycle times, tool life, and part quality, support setup optimization and fixture design as needed, and partner with Quality Assurance on non-conformances and root-cause analysis. Maintain revision control, support continuous improvement, train machinists and operators, and assist with machining-time estimates.
