The Residential Counselor role is onsite in the Greater Springfield Area, including Holyoke, Chicopee, and Springfield, MA. Compensation is listed hourly at $17.00 for Relief Residential Counselor, $21.00 for Residential Counselor I, and $22.58 for Residential Counselor II. Gandara Mental Health Center provides services in behavioral health, substance use and recovery, community-based clinical services, and residential programs. The counselor helps maintain a therapeutic environment in the Youth Residential Program, meeting clients’ safety, medical, emotional, food, clothing, and shelter needs. The role implements individual plan objectives, documents care, supports daily living and recreational activities, and works with program staff as a positive role model for clients.

What you'll do

• Implement each client’s individual Level Plan objectives under clinical and direct care supervision
• accurately log required documentation
• act as a staff advocate for one client
• support program and agency goals and staff
• work cooperatively and serve as a positive role model
• assist clients with daily tasks including cleaning, cooking, maintenance, and laundry
• plan and organize appropriate recreational and social activities
• perform other duties as requested by program leadership.
