The Dentist is an onsite role in Columbia, South Carolina. Pay is $110 per hour. The position supports a fully equipped dental clinic and includes service as Dental Director and participation on the SCDJJ medical committee. The dentist examines and diagnoses patients, provides preventive and restorative dental care, and performs selected procedures. The role also maintains dental policies and procedures and supports clinical decisions for referred care.

What you'll do

• Examine and diagnose using dental X-rays
• place composite fillings and sealants
• provide local anesthesia, prophylaxis, exams, and fluoride
• perform possible calculus debridement when necessary
• provide crowns
• perform simple extractions, with referrals as appropriate
• create, review, and update dental policies and procedures
• serve as Dental Director and on the SCDJJ medical committee. Third molar extractions, root canals, and existing orthodontics are referred out.
