Working under a foreman, superintendent, or experienced carpenter, the Carpenter I performs core carpentry tasks while developing skills in plan reading, layout, and material handling. The role supports construction work and jobsite safety by completing assigned tasks accurately and following established practices.

What you'll do

• Read basic plans and learn structural plan interpretation
• perform layout, measurements, and material calculations
• measure, cut, and shape building materials
• build temporary and permanent structures
• operate and maintain hand and power tools and small machinery
• load and unload materials
• complete cleanup, demolition, and preparation tasks
• identify and report hazards
• follow pre-task plans and participate in toolbox talks.
