Y Club Youth Development Leader

Job overview

The Y Club Youth Development Leader role is onsite in Kansas City, KS, with weekday morning and/or afternoon shifts before and after school, ending by 6:00 p.m.; pay starts at $15.50 per hour. The leader supports the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s before- and after-school program. The role supervises elementary-aged children and leads activities, games, crafts, sports, and homework help in a safe, positive setting. It also supports children’s development through respectful behavior guidance and relationships with families, school staff, and YMCA teammates.

What you'll do

• Supervise an assigned group of elementary-aged children
• plan and lead activities, games, crafts, sports, and homework help
• teach and enforce safety rules
• respond appropriately to emergencies
• verify authorized adults at pickup
• build relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA teammates
• follow YMCA, licensing, and school district policies
• help keep program spaces clean and organized.
