The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher role is onsite in Gales Ferry, CT, and is part-time. Compensation is $16.94–$17.50 per hour. The assistant supports the Teachers and Director in the Waddler and Toddler rooms at United Methodist Child Care Center. The assistant helps provide a safe, caring classroom and supports children’s care and education through developmentally appropriate activities. Working under the direction of the Teacher and Director, the role helps implement curricula, maintain classroom readiness, encourage hygiene and self-help, and build positive relationships with children and parents.

What you'll do

• Assist with curriculum activities and encourage children’s participation
• maintain classroom cleanliness, order, and materials
• model self-help and hygiene
• support daily transitions from home to the center
• follow center policies and state regulations
• attend required staff meetings and training.
