Job overview
The Mechanic B role is an onsite position based in Dayton, TX. This role supports the maintenance department at GFL Environmental, a company dedicated to providing sustainable environmental solutions. The primary purpose of this role is to conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on both Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles under the guidance of shop leadership to maintain the fleet in safe and continuous road-ready condition.
What you'll do
- Diagnose, repair and maintain GFL’s Diesel and CNG fleet.
- Complete basic inspection of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts.
- Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
- Perform standard electronic diagnostics and repair electrical equipment and hydraulic systems.
- Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
