Donations Transportation Manager

The Donations Transportation Manager role is onsite in Boston, MA. Compensation is $56,000–$60,000 per year. The role supports More Than Words’ youth-run retail and online stores and its youth employment and business-training mission. The manager coordinates donated-goods pickups and warehouse logistics while coaching young people in community-facing business development. The role helps keep store inventory supplied and develops youth employment, leadership, and customer-service skills through hands-on operations.

What you'll do

• Oversee logistics for book pickups in the organization’s van or truck
• safely manage community pickups with youth
• educate donors about the organization’s mission and ways to support it
• coach youth in donor interactions
• manage warehouse systems and help keep both locations stocked
• lead youth-engaged business development shifts
• supervise and train youth on book drives, inquiries, and marketing
• maintain Salesforce donation records and pickup schedules
• support department training, strategy, and operations.

Why this role

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with two to three weekends per year for events. The role is non-CDL and requires or entails obtaining a DOT medical card and commercial motor vehicle certification; forklift certification is required as needed.
