The Massachusetts Grade III Wastewater Operator position is onsite at the Cohasset Wastewater Treatment Facility in Cohasset, MA. Pay is $25–$30 per hour. The role is part of Woodard & Curran’s Operations & Maintenance team, supporting clean water and environmental protection. The operator helps ensure the 0.45 MGD membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment facility and collection system operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental regulations. Daily operations, process monitoring, testing, recordkeeping, and maintenance contribute to reliable treatment and protection of public health and the environment.

What you'll do

• Conduct daily plant inspections and operational rounds
• monitor treatment processes and make process-control adjustments
• collect samples and perform laboratory testing and analysis
• maintain operational records and reports
• assist with sludge thickening
• perform preventive and corrective equipment maintenance
• support facility, grounds, and collection-system maintenance
• follow safety procedures and environmental regulations
• respond to operational issues and emergencies as needed.

Why this role

Requires a Massachusetts Grade III Wastewater Operator License, at least two years of wastewater treatment operations and maintenance experience or equivalent education and experience, a high school diploma or trade school certification, and a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with an on-call rotation for after-hours plant coverage and occasional emergency or inclement-weather response.
