Reading Plus Literacy Instructor

The Reading Plus Literacy Instructor works onsite at Urban Ventures Youth Hub in Minneapolis, MN, and partner schools. The pay range is $26–$28 per hour, and the role is benefits-eligible at 30 hours per week. Urban Ventures is a faith-based nonprofit focused on educating children, strengthening families, and building a healthy community. The instructor provides targeted literacy and schoolwork support to students in grades 1–6 through individualized, systematic instruction. The role helps students build reading skills, stay on track in school, and develop character and healthy peer relationships.

What you'll do

• Plan individualized literacy lessons
• teach multisensory lessons using the Orton-Gillingham approach
• record timekeeping and attendance
• assess student progress and prepare intervention reports
• build relationships with students, families, and partner school staff
• attend team meetings and literacy training
• help plan and execute program events
• travel to partner schools as needed.
