The Sous Chef role is onsite at the Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland, OH, with pay of $24 per hour. Bon Appétit Management Company operates cafés for corporations, universities, and museums and emphasizes scratch cooking with fresh, local ingredients and socially and environmentally responsible sourcing. The Sous Chef helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook food, coordinates food-service associates, and assumes responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence. The role supports timely production, food safety, quality presentation, and smooth service while supervising associates and monitoring inventory.

What you'll do

• Prepare food according to approved recipes and production standards
• supervise hourly food-service associates, including scheduling, training, and counseling
• follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• ensure proper handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures
• maintain clean equipment and work areas
• address customer complaints
• explain menu items
• monitor inventory, deliveries, production, consumption, and waste.
