Job overview

The Engine Build Technician role is fully onsite five days per week in Bloomfield, CT; LiquidPiston expects to relocate to Suffield, CT later in 2026. Compensation is not specified. LiquidPiston develops compact, efficient, fuel-flexible rotary engines for aerospace, defense, energy, and mobility applications. This hands-on technician supports engineering and research and development by assembling, inspecting, maintaining, and documenting prototype and production rotary engines, helping the team refine designs and conduct testing.

What you'll do

  • Assemble and disassemble prototype and production rotary engines
  • inspect and measure machined components with precision tools
  • identify mechanical issues
  • maintain tool and component inventory
  • keep shop and lab areas safe and organized
  • perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs
  • collaborate with engineers and technicians on design iterations and testing
  • document build procedures, discrepancies, and process improvements.
