• Make rounds across departments
• review patient records and staff compliance
• provide performance feedback
• confer with nursing directors on care issues
• monitor policies and standards
• coordinate patient transfers
• review census and acuity and assess staffing
• evaluate patient acuity for staffing decisions
• investigate complaints
• ensure incident reports are completed
• support performance improvement and infection-control monitoring
• complete supervisor reports
• participate in community events.

Why this role
