Foodservice Team Member

The Foodservice Team Member role is onsite in Salem, VA, at Roanoke College. The hourly pay range is $15–$17. Roanoke College Dining Services serves students and guests through campus retail dining locations open seven days a week. The role supports dining operations through food preparation, customer service, sanitation, stocking, temperature monitoring, and teamwork. It helps provide safe, efficient culinary and hospitality experiences while responding to food allergy and special diet needs and following Dining Services procedures.

What you'll do

• Represent the college courteously
• follow workplace safety and sanitation standards
• clean and maintain equipment
• handle, stock, and rotate food and supplies
• prepare and produce hot and cold food
• monitor and record food and equipment temperatures
• complete assigned cleaning
• respond to communicated allergy and special diet needs
• work with team members
• use tablets, cash registers, and foodservice software
• follow Dining Services policies and procedures.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must hold or obtain ServSafe Manager and Food Allergy Research & Education certification within six months of employment and renew as needed. Position begins Friday, August 14, 2026.
