The Ophthalmology Technician is an onsite role in Portsmouth, VA. Compensation is $28.30 per hour. The technician provides ophthalmic clinical support to military service members, retirees, and dependents at a military treatment facility; employment is conditional on successful execution of the client contract. What you'll do

• Perform ophthalmic diagnostic tests and imaging
• assist with surgical procedures, screenings, and patient preparation
• support refractive surgery work-ups and pre- and post-operative care
• coordinate patient flow
• prepare rooms and maintain equipment
• sterilize and set up instruments
• operate clinical information systems
• collect and enter surgery patient data
• participate in performance improvement activities.

Why this role

Requires at least one year of recent full-time ophthalmic technician experience and U.S. citizenship. Services are Monday through Friday between 0700 and 1900, typically in 8.5-hour shifts including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Travel may be requested.
