The Software Engineer is an onsite role based in Cardiff By The Sea, CA, with a compensation range of $87,100 to $157,450 per year. This position supports the Leidos Defense team in modernizing U.S. Navy Anti-Submarine Warfare systems. The role exists to modernize training platforms by transitioning hardware-based solutions to virtualized Linux environments. The engineer will design, deploy, and maintain these systems to improve portability, scalability, and maintainability for Navy training stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain virtualized training environments
• migrate software from hardware to KVM/libvirt platforms
• build RHEL system images
• develop automation with Ansible and Python
• configure Open vSwitch
• troubleshoot integration issues
• support cybersecurity compliance.
