Certified Teacher, Middle School Study Table Instructor

The Certified Teacher, Middle School Study Table Instructor role is onsite in Dayton, OH, and pays $35 per hour. The instructor supports students in grades 6–8 in the Edwin Joel Brown Scholars of H.O.P.E. Afterschool Program. This role provides structured academic assistance and enrichment, helping students complete homework, strengthen foundational skills, and prepare for classroom assignments and assessments. The instructor coordinates with the Education and Curriculum Coach and program leaders to align support with learning goals and students’ needs.

What you'll do

• Provide academic instruction Monday through Thursday from 2:15–3:30 p.m.
• assist with homework
• deliver individual and small-group instruction in mathematics, science, social studies, reading, and English language arts
• develop enrichment activities
• collaborate with the Education and Curriculum Coach
• monitor and record attendance, participation, and progress
• communicate student needs to program leaders
• maintain a structured, inclusive learning environment
• follow safety, confidentiality, and child-protection requirements.
