Student Support Specialist — Leadership Development Program

The Student Support Specialist role is onsite in South Mountain, PA, at Building 6. Pay is $21 per hour. The role is part of Abraxas Youth & Family Services’ Leadership Development Program, supporting students’ academic progress and development. The position exists to help students stay on track academically and maintain a safe, structured classroom environment. Working alongside a certified teacher, the specialist provides individual and small-group academic support, reinforces lessons, mentors students, and communicates progress to teaching staff.

What you'll do

• Work alongside a certified teacher
• provide one-to-one and small-group support in reading, math, and core subjects
• reinforce lessons and help students complete schoolwork
• support classroom routines and engagement
• serve as a positive role model and mentor
• monitor and communicate student progress
• help maintain a safe, structured classroom
• participate in team discussions about student progress and development.

Why this role

No experience is required for many positions and paid training is provided. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in any subject and is scheduled Monday–Friday, year-round, in eight-hour shifts.
