Employment Specialist, Supported Employment

The Employment Specialist, Supported Employment role is community-based at local employer sites in State College, PA. Compensation is $19 per hour. At Peace Health Care provides supported employment services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The specialist helps individuals identify employment goals, obtain competitive integrated jobs, learn workplace responsibilities, and build independence. Through individualized coaching, employer collaboration, and gradual fading of paid support, the role helps participants succeed in meaningful work and develop natural workplace supports.

What you'll do

• Provide person-centered supported employment services based on each individual’s plan, strengths, preferences, needs, and goals
• assist with career exploration, job searches, applications, resumes, interview preparation, and employer outreach
• build relationships with local employers
• conduct job and task analyses
• provide on-the-job coaching and systematic instruction
• support workplace skills and independence
• develop plans to fade coaching support
• monitor progress and communicate concerns
• follow safety, confidentiality, rights, and incident requirements
• provide transportation when required and authorized
• complete service documentation
• participate in training, supervision, and team meetings.
