Working under the guidance of the mentor teacher and teacher, the co-teacher helps provide a safe, nurturing classroom environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development, while partnering with families and contributing to classroom planning and child development documentation.
What you'll do
- Interact respectfully and supportively with children
- collaborate with the teacher on curriculum, activities, and classroom environments
- document children’s accomplishments and assist with observations and data gathering
- support individualized education plans
- communicate with families and participate in home visits and conferences
- share assessment information with families
- supervise children and maintain a safe, organized environment
