The Group Counselor – Intensive Outpatient Program role is onsite in Grand Junction, CO, and is part-time, up to 25 hours per week. Programming is typically 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday through Friday; specific hours depend on program needs, availability, qualifications, and experience. Compensation is $25–$45 per hour. Ava Health’s Intensive Outpatient Program serves adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. The counselor facilitates structured therapeutic, psychoeducational, process-oriented, and skills-based groups. The role supports clients’ treatment and recovery goals through group participation, documentation, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.

What you'll do

• Facilitate scheduled IOP groups
• create a safe, structured, respectful environment
• lead psychoeducation, skills practice, therapeutic processing, and experiential activities as appropriate
• encourage participation and maintain group boundaries
• respond therapeutically to group dynamics
• use evidence-informed approaches within training and scope
• complete group documentation
• communicate clinical concerns
• participate in supervision and training
• collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, nursing staff, and case managers.
