Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is an onsite role in Mount Airy, NC. Compensation is $10–$16 per hour. The assistant supports residents at Twelve Oaks, a community focused on safe, comfortable living and seniors’ well-being and quality of life. The PCA provides direct care and daily support while promoting residents’ dignity, independence, and safety. By assisting with personal needs, monitoring and reporting health changes, and encouraging social engagement, the role contributes to a supportive residential community.

What you'll do

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meals, feeding, and hydration
• observe and report changes in health, behavior, and physical condition
• provide medication reminders and monitor for adverse reactions
• offer companionship and encourage participation in activities
• maintain clean, organized, and safe living areas
• follow infection-control and safety procedures
• respond to emergencies according to established procedures.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED and state-approved PCA, CNA, or caregiver training are preferred; one year of relevant experience is preferred; CPR and first aid certification are preferred.
