Music Teacher

The Music Teacher role is an onsite, full-time position in Baltimore, MD, with compensation of $70,000–$90,000 per year. The role is based at Nexus Family Healing’s Woodbourne Campus, which serves youth and families through trauma-informed practices. The teacher provides music instruction and supports students’ educational, social, and emotional growth. Working with the school and treatment teams, the teacher assesses progress, implements individualized education plans, maintains a supportive classroom, and uses appropriate behavior-management and crisis-response approaches.

What you'll do

• Assess educational needs and student progress with the school team
• prepare lesson plans and teach assigned classes
• provide individual assistance and assess progress toward academic goals
• adapt instruction to student needs
• collaborate with educational and treatment staff
• use appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• maintain a positive classroom climate and student confidentiality
• assist with individualized education plans and participate in meetings and training.

Why this role
