Project Engineer, Data Center Construction

The Project Engineer, Data Center Construction role is an onsite, full-time position in Cedar Rapids, IA, with annual compensation of $90,000–$110,000. E2 Optics supports data center infrastructure for AI, cloud computing, and other technology applications. This role provides engineering and project support for data center construction, helping ensure work meets contract requirements, customer quality plans, and industry standards. It coordinates project documentation, testing, training, change orders, closeout, and continuous improvement with project and field teams.

What you'll do

• Develop data center technical training, SOPs, and work instructions
• provide field and project engineering, quality control, contract administration, drawing review, submittals, scheduling, and RFI support
• manage change orders and contracts
• support construction planning and engineering methods
• coordinate testing, project closeout, drawings, documentation, and field audits
• track test and label-printing equipment
• develop project metrics and support regulatory compliance and Lean initiatives.
