Project Cost Control Lead — Capital Projects

The Project Cost Control Lead role is onsite in Houston, TX, with work across Houston, Beaumont, and Akron and routine travel to Beaumont and periodic travel to Akron or other company locations. Compensation is not specified. This newly created role builds an enterprise-wide capital project cost-control framework. The lead establishes consistent processes, tools, controls, and reporting for capital project financial management. Through tracking, forecasting, analysis, and guidance to project managers, the role improves financial visibility, accountability, and proactive cost management across the capital portfolio.

What you'll do

• Assess current project cost practices and identify gaps, risks, and improvements
• develop standardized cost-control processes, procedures, tools, reporting, and controls
• establish requirements for budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, forecasts, cash flow, funding changes, and closeout
• lead portfolio cost tracking and monthly forecasting
• analyze financial performance, trends, and variances
• assess cost impacts of schedule, scope, and execution changes
• develop reporting, KPIs, and dashboards
• support capital planning, funding, budgeting, and change orders
• coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, vendors, and project managers
• maintain project financial data in ERP and reporting systems
• lead financial closeout
• provide functional leadership and training.
