Mental Health Professional – Correctional Facility

The Mental Health Professional – Correctional Facility role is an onsite position in Artesia, NM, scheduled for 24 hours per week and paying $41–$44 per hour. The role provides mental health services to inmates or clients in a correctional facility. The professional assesses mental health needs, provides appropriate treatment and crisis intervention, and coordinates care with medical and facility staff. The work supports therapeutic outcomes and access to mental health care for the facility’s population.

What you'll do

• Conduct intakes, evaluations, and assessments
• identify symptoms and treatment needs and recommend special housing or watch when necessary
• coordinate with medical and security staff
• provide appropriate non-pharmacological treatment, crisis and suicide intervention, clinical supervision, and treatment plans
• monitor special populations
• train staff
• document services
• and provide linkage or discharge planning when appropriate. Master’s-level education and an applicable listed license are required, along with current CPR/BLS certification and a current TB test.
