Parks and Recreation Director

What you'll do

• Direct parks, recreation programs, facilities, and maintenance operations
• manage departmental budgets, revenues, and expenditures
• evaluate services and recommend improvements
• oversee recreation programs and facilities, including camps, aquatic facilities, ice arena, tennis courts, performing arts center, leagues, and events
• direct parkland and facility maintenance, development, and expansion
• advise the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer and Park Board
• prepare operating and capital budgets and reports
• supervise staff and seasonal hiring
• attend Park Board meetings
• lead long-range planning for parkland and facilities.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration, recreation management, public administration, business administration, or a related field; five years of progressively responsible related experience; and three years of supervisory or management experience.
