The Speech Language Pathologist will administer diagnostic evaluations, recommend communication devices, prepare reports, and provide direct speech services to clients.

What you'll do

• Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
• Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function.
• Administer diagnostic speech and language evaluations and some basic, informal audio logical assessment in accordance with the plan of care.
• Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
• Prepare a report of each client’s diagnostic evaluation and make recommendations.
• Advise, consult and teach appropriate procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other agency staff.
• Provide direct speech service to clients under a provider’s plan of care.
• Records and reports to the provider the client’s response to therapy.

What we're looking for

Education

Certification of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech Language Hearing Association

Experience

1+ year of acute care setting or equivalent experience
