Medical Assistant

Job overview

The Medical Assistant role is onsite in Hingham, MA, with pay of $20–$25 per hour; occasional travel to the Abington office may be required. South Shore Orthopedics seeks to support a busy orthopedic provider and deliver coordinated patient care. The assistant supports clinic sessions and clinical workflow through hands-on patient care, accurate records, orthopedic device assistance, and communication with patients and the care team. The role also serves as a resource to clinical colleagues and may assist with training and mentoring as needed.

What you'll do

• Assist physicians during clinic sessions
• document complaints, histories, medications, and other information in the eMDs electronic medical record
• apply and remove casts, splints, and orthopedic devices as directed
• prepare charts and imaging
• process medication refill requests according to provider instructions
• obtain and communicate PT/INR results for surgical patients taking Coumadin
• complete medical forms within three to five business days
• support teammates and patient flow
• protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
