Senior Care Assistant

Job overview

The Senior Care Assistant role is onsite in Gonzales, Louisiana, serving clients in their homes across the service area. Pay is $10.50 per hour. A First Name Basis provides in-home care to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The assistant provides personal care and companionship while helping clients with daily activities and maintaining a safe home environment. The role also observes and reports changes in client well-being and documents care according to company and regulatory standards.

What you'll do

• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting
• provide companionship and emotional support
• help with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and feeding as needed
• provide medication reminders and accompany clients to appointments
• monitor and report health changes
• maintain a safe client environment
• document care
• travel to assigned client visits.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED, valid identification, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to client homes are required. Home Health Aide or CNA certification and prior direct service or personal care experience are preferred. Shifts may range from 4–12 hours.
