Job overview

The Direct Support Professional – Angola Area role is onsite in Farnham, NY. Compensation is $20 per hour. The position supports people receiving services through Suburban Adult Services’ person-centered programs. The role provides supervision, assistance, and skill-building in line with each person’s service plan, while helping maintain safety and well-being at home, at work, and in the community. It encourages self-directed living and participation in community activities to the greatest extent possible.

What you'll do

• Provide supports, supervision, assistance, and skill acquisition as outlined in individual service plans
• support personal hygiene, housekeeping, shopping, and community vocational or skill-based activities
• maintain safety in home, worksite, and community settings according to protective oversight plans and safeguards
• assist with monitoring and providing health supports as directed by medical staff
• in site-based programs, perform routine housekeeping and maintenance that may include cooking, cleaning, shoveling, and gardening
• implement production or activity programming.
