Corporate Counsel

Job overview

The Corporate Counsel role follows Metropolis’s office-first model and is onsite in Chicago, IL at least four days per week. The anticipated annual base salary is $150,000–$170,000. Metropolis develops technology for parking, mobility, retail, and hospitality experiences. The counsel supports the Senior Counsel and business teams with practical legal guidance, commercial contracting, compliance, and risk assessment. The role helps protect and advance company operations while supporting legal strategies aligned with the company’s technology and urban mobility business.

What you'll do

• Support legal guidance for business regions or practice groups
• advise stakeholders on contract issues, compliance, and risk assessments
• help develop and execute legal strategies
• draft, review, and support negotiation of commercial, SaaS, client, procurement, IT, government, leasing, and consulting agreements
• use AI tools to improve legal workflows
• support business disputes and outside counsel coordination.

Why this role

Requires a Juris Doctor and an active license or eligibility to practice in Illinois or Tennessee, plus five or more years of progressive corporate or transactional law experience. The corporate team is required to work onsite at least four days per week.
