The Digital Manufacturing Lead – SCADA, MES & Data role is onsite, based initially in Durham, NC, and transitioning to the Benson, NC facility as commissioning begins; compensation is not specified. Vulcan Elements manufactures rare-earth permanent magnets for critical industries including defense, aerospace, and automotive. The lead owns the digital manufacturing architecture and directs the SCADA, MES, and data engineering team for a major facility expansion. The work connects plant equipment, production systems, and reporting so manufacturing, quality, and operations teams can use reliable plant data.

What you'll do

• Own the plant normalization layer and functional allocation across SCADA, batch execution, MES, and data systems
• lead platform evaluations and MES implementation
• own the plant information model and reporting layer
• lead and develop SCADA, MES, and data engineers
• direct system integrators and vendor delivery
• and establish architecture, integration, testing, handover, and system administration standards. Occasional travel to OEM factory acceptance tests and platform vendor engagements is stated.
