Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction

Job overview

The Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction role is onsite in Kittrell, NC, with a Monday–Friday schedule and extended hours, nights, or weekends as project demands require. Compensation is not specified. Sunrock delivers construction projects for NCDOT, municipalities, and commercial clients. This role supports infrastructure projects from pre-construction through completion by coordinating estimates, schedules, materials, subcontractors, documentation, and financial tracking. It helps field teams and customers complete work safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.

• Assist with estimating scope, costs, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation
• review plans, specifications, and contracts
• coordinate schedules, materials, and subcontractors
• track progress and project finances
• maintain project documentation
• communicate updates
• support safety, quality, and process improvement.
