Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher role is onsite in Cranston, RI. Pay is $40–$50 per hour. Pediatric Developmental Services partners with schools and communities to provide teachers and pediatric therapists and support children's development. The teacher develops and implements individualized education plans, monitors student progress, and works with families, school staff, and on-site therapists. The role supports students' educational progress through individualized instruction and a safe, productive classroom environment.

What you'll do

• Create and execute individualized education plans
• communicate student progress and challenges to staff and families
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• participate in scheduled IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• invite family participation
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• confer with on-site therapists about behavioral and disciplinary issues
• maintain a safe, productive classroom.
