The Automation Technician position is onsite in Emporia, VA. Compensation is $55–$65 per hour. The role supports automation systems and equipment operations at Helion Group. The technician troubleshoots, maintains, and programs robotic and control systems to reduce equipment downtime and support installations and projects. The role also helps train maintenance employees and works with electricians, vendors, supervisors, and the Special Projects Manager.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and program ABB robotic welding and cutting systems
• use teaching pendants to adjust robot operations
• restore outdated robots and assist with installations
• troubleshoot PLCs, automation systems, sensors, scanners, and tracking equipment
• support electricians with CAT cable terminations and controls tasks
• train maintenance employees
• coordinate with vendors and project leaders
• perform preventive maintenance.

Why this role
