Medical Coder and Provider Educator

What you'll do

• Review medical records and documentation to assign diagnosis, procedure, treatment, and encounter codes
• use coding resources for CPT and evaluation and management codes
• work with providers to clarify documentation
• maintain knowledge of coding rules and regulations
• audit charts and analyze coding practices
• educate providers and staff
• research coding changes
• collaborate with the business office
• maintain coding procedures and guidelines
• protect confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
