What you'll do

• Review the medical record and planned procedure
• verify patient identity and surgical site
• participate in the surgical time-out
• ensure equipment, supplies, medications, instruments, and imaging are available
• assist with positioning, preparation, medication administration as ordered, specimen management, surgical counts, intraoperative monitoring, and documentation
• maintain aseptic and sterile technique
• advocate for patient safety, privacy, dignity, comfort, and individual needs
• support workflow, room turnover, preference cards, and supply and equipment needs.
