Oncology Nurse Navigator

The Oncology Nurse Navigator works onsite in Lancaster, SC, on a 40-hour weekly day schedule. Compensation is not specified. The role supports the MUSC Health Hematology & Oncology Cancer Center and helps patients and caregivers navigate cancer care. Using oncology nursing expertise, the navigator guides patients through diagnosis and initial treatment planning, provides education, identifies barriers, and coordinates access to care. The role connects patients, caregivers, physicians, and multidisciplinary providers to promote timely, coordinated care and continuity throughout the oncology journey.

What you'll do

• Guide patients and caregivers through the oncology care continuum, especially diagnosis and initial treatment planning
• provide individualized education and support
• identify barriers and connect patients with resources
• facilitate access to consultations, testing, treatment, and supportive services
• coordinate communication among patients, providers, and care teams
• advocate for patient needs
• prioritize changing care needs
• maintain relationships with providers and community resources.

Why this role
