Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist role is onsite in Morris, IL, with pay of $22–$26 per hour. The position supports the Operations and Accounting teams and telecommunications construction operations, including utility locate coordination across Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. The role ensures completed project work is accurately documented, approved, and invoiced while keeping utility locate requests and tickets current. By coordinating with project managers, field teams, customers, subcontractors, and accounting staff, the specialist helps reduce unbilled production and keep construction and billing workflows moving.

What you'll do

• Review production reports and supporting field documentation
• enter production data into company and customer systems
• prepare and verify customer billing
• track work through approval and invoicing
• investigate discrepancies and rejected invoices
• maintain billing records and track unbilled production
• manage customer billing portals and requirements
• submit and monitor utility locate requests through state One Call/811 systems
• maintain ticket records and renewals
• communicate ticket status
• and support reporting and reconciliation.
