Immigration Policy Director

The Immigration Policy Director role is based in New York, NY. Compensation is $130,000–$140,000 per year. NYLAG provides free civil legal services, financial empowerment, impact litigation, policy advocacy, and community partnerships for people experiencing poverty or crisis. The director leads systemic immigration policy advocacy and coordinates with NYLAG teams and partner organizations. The role helps providers respond to legal and policy changes, develop shared strategies, and advance immigrant justice through research, training, coalition work, and advocacy.

What you'll do

• Lead policy advocacy on immigration law and policy
• monitor and summarize legal, regulatory, and enforcement developments
• coordinate trainings and resources
• convene partner agencies
• identify impact-litigation opportunities
• prepare comments and testimony
• conduct legal and factual research, legislative and data analysis
• coordinate coalitions
• create public-facing materials
• track partner resources and service gaps
• assist with reporting.
