Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician III

Job overview

The Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician III role is onsite in Boston, MA, with travel required up to 50% of the time, including continuous stays of up to two weeks. Pay is $35–$40 per hour. T2 Utility Engineers provides SUE and surveying services for infrastructure projects. The technician leads daily field crew operations and uses utility locating and designating equipment to support accurate utility mapping. The work contributes quality information and professional insight that help project stakeholders plan and design infrastructure projects and improve construction safety.

What you'll do

• Operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment to map utilities
• complete daily reports, forms, and field sketches
• supervise field crew activities and train crew members
• communicate with clients, subcontractors, and third parties
• maintain vehicles and equipment
• facilitate tailgate safety meetings and job hazard analyses
• drive commercial motor vehicles
• direct traffic-signage safety setup
• complete monthly equipment inventory.
