Health Information Management Specialist

The Health Information Management Specialist role is onsite in Wentzville, MO, with a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. Compensation is $17.50 per hour. The position supports Compass Health Network’s mission-driven behavioral healthcare setting by helping care teams access accurate, timely, and secure information. The role exists to process and maintain health records accurately and confidentially, supporting patient privacy and the organization’s operations. It handles record requests, document scanning and quality checks, and related records projects while providing customer service about health information.

What you'll do

• Receive and process medical record requests in compliance with HIPAA
• log, prepare, and send records by mail, email, or fax
• prepare invoices for billed requests and monitor release timelines
• scan and upload documents into the EHR and audit scanned files
• support medical records audits, chart conversions, and purging projects
• respond to health-record inquiries by phone and email. At the Royal Oaks location, audit discharged patient records and check scanned materials in the EHR for completeness.
