Construction Engineering Technician

Job overview

The Construction Engineering Technician works onsite at Naval Station Great Lakes in Great Lakes, IL. Compensation is $90,000–$110,000 per year. The role supports BB&E’s A&AS contract and NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic facilities design and construction projects. The technician coordinates construction quality assurance, safety, and technical support to help projects meet requirements and progress toward acceptance and closeout. The work includes reviewing plans and reports, observing tests and site conditions, coordinating with contractors and government teams, and tracking project schedules and punch-list items.

What you'll do

• Coordinate construction quality management
• review contractor quality-control plans and project submittals
• attend selected quality-control meetings and tests
• document progress and review reports
• verify materials and as-built drawings
• support safety reviews and site assessments
• coordinate utilities, permits, and field interfaces
• review schedules and construction documents
• investigate field issues and recommend solutions
• coordinate acceptance inspections and closeout.
