Senior Transportation Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Transportation Engineer role is onsite in Lombard, IL. Compensation is $100,000–$175,000 per year. The role supports Valdes Architecture & Engineering’s Transportation practice and its growth across Illinois and additional Midwest markets. The engineer leads roadway project planning, design, and delivery while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and public agency stakeholders. The role also contributes to practice growth through mentoring, client relationships, prequalification efforts, and business development support.

What you'll do

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of IDOT and local agency roadway projects
• prepare and review Phase I and II engineering deliverables
• develop traffic control, staging, and maintenance-of-traffic plans
• coordinate internal teams and external subconsultants
• mentor junior engineers and participate in QA/QC
• support IDOT and INDOT prequalifications, client relationships, and business development.
