The Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities role is onsite in a home-like setting in Conover, NC. Pay is $14–$15 per hour. The role provides direct care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. The professional supports clients’ personal care, health monitoring, daily activities, and community participation while helping implement individual service and behavior support plans. The work contributes to clients’ well-being and supports positive relationships with their circles of support.

What you'll do

• Assist with hygiene, grooming, feeding, ambulation, medical monitoring, and related health care tasks
• foster relationships with individuals and their support networks
• encourage self-help activities
• implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans
• use prevention or de-escalation strategies
• document activities, medications, goals, and data
• transport individuals to community activities and medical appointments.
