Distribution Overhead Lineperson (1st Class)

What you'll do

• Lead crew members in the foreman’s absence
• string overhead wire
• set poles and anchors
• install transformers, arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear
• troubleshoot primary and secondary systems
• replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits
• maintain vehicles, equipment, and tools
• identify voltage and induced voltage
• follow grounding procedures
• work at heights or in confined spaces
• use PPE and cover-up
• plan safe work from prints or work orders
• conduct pre-job briefings
• perform reconductoring and install or remove mechanical jumpers.
